Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Psalm 100:2
The Lord Speaks
I see every movement in the earth. I see soldiers, warriors, little children, men, and women going about their duties. I am putting the pause button on the picture that you see so that you can see My picture.
11 For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 Amplified Bible (AMP)
My Thoughts
A duty can sometimes be a routine chore but when a person serves the Lord with gladness, it becomes a service and assignment to the Lord.
God is calling us to listen to His voice that gives warning, encouragement, instructions, answers, great counsel, and ways for effectual-abundant living.
In this hour, the Lord is pouring forth His instructions on how to defeat darkness.
When a person prays this prayer: “Change me oh God and make me more like you”, expect to hear the voice of God.
His Divineness will shine through in the life of the petitioner. What comes after the prayer – may be calamity and seem nothing like an answered prayer.
Focus on what you prayed and expect to see God’s perfect picture for life.
God’s picture includes bringing us out of distortion, ciaos, un-devoted duty, and obligation. When we serve the Lord with gladness, it becomes an honor to the Lord.
Our picture of life does not always look like what God has planned for us.
Sometimes we fall into robotic manipulative forms of humans that God never created. The world often projects an image of man that is nowhere in God’s Word.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Genesis 1:27 (KJV)
I remember seeing movies about slavery. I recall scenes where slaves were working in the cotton fields or some other free labor.
The workers always had a joyous song. The songs helped them get through a workday and their time of servitude.
Slaves were forced to work without wages. They created empires for their slave owners. Yet, slaves realized their service was to the Lord.
Our slave ancestors served the Lord with gladness. Gladness of heart and faith in God’s promises abolished slavery.
Future generations became free by the loyalty of true servants.
Think about serving the Lord with gladness in hard situations. Think about Jeremiah 29:11. God’s love and plan will always be working for His people.
Joseph found himself in a difficult place when his brothers sold him into slavery. God’s love and redemptive power freed Joseph from the bondage of slave owners.
23 And it came to pass, when Joseph was come unto his brethren, that they stript Joseph out of his coat, his coat of many colours that was on him; 24 And they took him, and cast him into a pit: and the pit was empty, there was no water in it. 25 And they sat down to eat bread: and they lifted up their eyes and looked, and, behold, a company of Ishmeelites came from Gilead with their camels bearing spicery and balm and myrrh, going to carry it down to Egypt. 26 And Judah said unto his brethren, What profit is it if we slay our brother, and conceal his blood? 27 Come, and let us sell him to the Ishmeelites, and let not our hand be upon him; for he is our brother and our flesh. And his brethren were content. 28 Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt. Genesis 37:23-28 (KJV)
39 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: 40 Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou. 41 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt. 42 And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph’s hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck; 43 And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt. 44 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt. Genesis 41:39-44 (KJV)
After given privileges to rule in Egypt, Joseph blessed his family that put him in bondage.
Joseph never forgot his God. He remained loyal to his faith and continued to serve the Lord with gladness.
As we look at God’s picture for life in Psalm 100:2 and Jeremiah 29:11, pray to see. Pray to understand what the Lord shows through His Word.
When we start serving the Lord with gladness, our loved ones under bondage shall experience the manifestation of God’s Word!
