AM I Like Jesus

It seems like Jesus is asking Christians to do hard things but He is not. He is only asking people to look within themselves. The Lord is asking His children to see themselves in the Word of God. Matthew 5, gives us a true mirror. All of us started out as strangers alienated from Christ.

In the beginning of life, we came to Christ as sinners. He reconciled sinful man back to the Cross, so we could partaker of His Grace. Jesus finished work at Calvary – was not so man should continue on in sin. Even though man is made in God’s image – His true design is for us to become new creatures – created in Christ Jesus for good works.

Simply put, this word states that we should do unto others as we would have them do unto us. The easiest way to obey God’s Word – is to remember Jesus did all these things for a forgiven sinner. Matthew 5, lays out the garment and attire man should wear to be like Jesus.

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. 11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: Ephesians 2:8-16
