I heard the Lord say, “Re-Examine your walk”.
My people you have stood halt between two opinions too long. If I be God then follow Me. My way is not harsh it is true. Know that in the mist of your rantings and raving that I AM a Jealous God.
And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. 1 Kings 18:21 (KJV)
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Matthew 6:24 (KJV)
For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: Exodus 34:14 (KJV)
The Lord gave me these scriptures for reexamining our walk.
26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. 27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. 28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? 29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, 30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. 31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? 32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace. 33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. 34 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned? 35 It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. Luke 14:26-35
My Thoughts
All these sayings may seem hard and harsh. Yet these scriptures are the Lord’s requirements.
The Lord is telling us to deny the old man of sin. The flesh cannot have dominance over the Spirit of God.
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:24
He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls. Proverbs 25:28
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Romans 8:8-11
Luke 14:26, the Lord refers to hating sin even in self and family members. Sin must be confronted it does not get a free get out of jail pass.
Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him. Leviticus 19:17

Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. 2 John 8 (KJV)
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18 (KJV)
Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Philippians 2:4 (KJV)
Count the cost of Discipleship
- 26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
- 27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
- 33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
Count the cost of saying, “I am a Christian”. Then count the cost of being a Christian. Reexamine your walk.
