I perceive the most amazing thing in the Gospel is how – God kept Jesus hidden in Himself until His appointed time.
Do you ever wonder why Jesus did not come forth at the beginning of sin? Why did God wait so long after Adam’s sin to allow Jesus to manifest?
Jesus was with the Father from the beginning. Genesis 1:26 states, And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:…
22 The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. 23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. 24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water. 25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:
26 While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world. 27 When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth: 28 When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:
29 When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth: 30 Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him; Proverbs 8:22-30 (KJV)
Adam and Eve unveiled sin among God’s newly created things. They had no needs or desire that God did not fulfill. While I am certain of their loyalty and love for the Lord – they disobeyed His instructions.
If Jesus had paid the penalty right away for Adam and Eve, their future offspring would not have been covered? God made a covenant with Adam, which did not extend to his seed.
Adam functioned under a blessing to be fruitful and multiply and to replenish the earth. The multiplication God addressed had nothing to do with having children. He meant for them to keep building on the foundation He started.
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Genesis 1:26-28 (KJV)
God gives Adam a commandment not to eat of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Adam and Eve’s main job was to bring pleasure and Glory to God.
The Bible did not state He planned to make more humans. Did God plan to fashion more people in the same way He made Adam and Eve? I cannot argue this point. All I know and understand from the word of God – is that His promise of life went to Adam and not his seed.
When sin was fulfilled by both man and woman, it brought forth dead, just as God stated in His instruction.
As much as God loved Adam and Eve, he had to honor His word concerning death.
16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Genesis 2:16-17 (KJV)
God’s Mercy for man caused Him to put a hold on death. Instead of immediate death, God rendered judgment on Adam and Eve for their sin. The woman’s punishment was to conceive children in sorrow and suffering.
Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die. Ezekiel 18:4 (KJV)
Eve conceived Cain and Abel. God liked what He saw. Again, God prolongs death so that Adam could bring forth seed. In the fullness of time, Jesus came forth to die for the sins of all mankind. When God was satisfied with the earth filling up with more people made in His image and likeness – He released Jesus.
4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. Galatians 4:4-5 (KJV)
Generations of people started cropping up and God continued making Covenants with man. In this way – bloodlines are protected.
- The Adamic Covenant
- The Noahic Covenant
- The Abrahamic Covenant
- The Mosaic Covenant
- The Davidic Covenant
- New Covenant
Man continues to live and flourish until a sinful world realized its need for a Savior.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23 (KJV)
Everyday God’s new Mercy comes. He is continually extending life and putting eternal death on hold.
Jesus had a short assignment in the earth, to redeem humanity back to God. In other words, Jesus assignment was to recover man’s blood lost in sin (blood for blood).
Life is in the blood. When man dies, his blood ceases to flow. God created man to have blood connection with His Holiness.
For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul. Leviticus 17:11 (KJV)
Adam was connected by blood to God. When Adam sinned – that blood tie was severed. God no longer recognized Adam’s blood because it was tainted by sin.
God immediately recognized a sinner and not the saint from the beginning. When God called out to Adam, He was asking what happened to My purity and perfection?
8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. 9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? 10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. 11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? Genesis 3:8-11 (KJV)
Man’s purpose on earth was not lost because of his sin. God’s plan for life in man continues and is restored. We have redemption of man came through Jesus shed blood.
He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name. Psalm 111:9 (KJV)
Jesus stay in the earth realm was brief. He had a short time to fix a temporary problem with a permanent fix. His mission was to exchange His blood for the souls of man.
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. Romans 5:6 (KJV)
Thereby, believers have an everlasting pause on death because of Jesus finished work on the cross. The pause ends when man enters into eternal life!
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (KJV)
Jesus is created as a mirror image of God. The Father cannot see His image unless He is looking at Jesus! Jesus did His job in the earth realm. He set up the church. He trained Worker Bees to build on His foundation.
Everything we see happening in the Book of Acts is part of God’s “Fullness of Time”.
- The Prophet’s prophetic Words about the Messiah
- The Coming of The Holy Spirit
- The Acts of the Apostles
- The Opposition to the Gospel
- The Miracles
- Souls Added to the Church
- The Expansion of the Good News to all People
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Acts 1:8 (KJV)
God used Jesus to pay off our sin debt. All those who accept Eternal Salvation, walk in freedom and liberty of Christ sacrifice.
God used wisdom to outsmart Satan. The enemy thought he could destroy the world by killing the first two created humans (Adam and Eve). God used His authority to put death on hold, and allowed the human population to grow to His satisfaction.
Everything we see happening in Acts points to Christ return. We see Jesus sacrifice and suffering. We see God’s promise fulfilled to redeem man from eternal damnation. We see our responsibility, obligation, and duty, to carry out the work Christ started.
Again we will experience God’s “Fullness of Time” when Messiah Jesus returns. In the fullness of time man will no longer succumb to death.
Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
Matthew 26:64 (KJV)
For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Matthew 24:27 (KJV)
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Matthew 24:29-30 (KJV)
