Take the Keys Launch the Holy Spirit
Has The LORD given you any time alone moments lately?
In the formative years of raising children, parents mind often wonders toward becoming “Empty Nesters”.
On the worst day of parenthood, seldom did I look at my mistakes. Of course, it was much easier to address the children’s faults.
During the hardship of raising children many days cropped up that presented no correct or immediately solutions.
Yes, I was a brain dead parent in many instances. The only remedy that revived my brain was thinking about being an Empty Nester.
However, oxygen flow to the brain was interrupted again — when children screamed about this or that.
The day of expectation came and I was “Home alone”. Finally, I could stop walking in perfection (or so I thought) and receive no weird looks from the kids.
Suddenly, I had no one to yell at or say, “I cannot believe you did that!”
Alone with personal feelings — I quickly discovered all the thoughts were not mine.
A mirror appeared in my presence every day showing things I needed to change, correct, or refrain from doing.
I had to acknowledge these things because they did not go away. I dealt with them.
After getting to a point of dealing with all the mirror images — those pictures stopped flashing.
Every day that mirror continued to show up. To my surprise, nothing but a blank mirror stared in my face.
The silence of the empty mirror brought an uneasy feeling. I started to feel alone, miss my kids, and wander if my parenting was too harsh.
I tried to create my own mirror by filling it with self-improvements. Well, that did not work either.
Then I started reading The Bible more. The more I read the less I understood. Eventually, I started to read less of God’s Word.
Now I am in a new place of dissatisfaction; because I did not want to seem like a failure.
Again, I started reading the Bible more but I was not reading to understand I read to make myself sleepy.
Some weird people said the devil does not want you to ready the Bible – so he will make you sleepy to keep your mind off God.
I went through a cycle of not sleeping but I did not stop reading the Bible.
The word of God began to fill my life with its passion and quest for a better understanding.
During this time, I explained these events to my mother and she stated, “You need a relationship with the Holy Spirit”.
Thus, I am on another quest to research and understand The Holy Spirit.
It took surrender as a student to God’s Word for scales to fall from my eyes. Once I saw in The Spirit, Revelation and Wisdom appeared.
The Holy Spirit was present with me after I accepted Christ — but I had not activated or cultivated our relationship.
Giving a more precise explanation, this experience is like having a car with gas, keys, and permission to drive, but never cranking the engine.
Once I utilize the power of the car then I am able to go places and do things.
People are angry with God because they do not know what to do with the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit/ Ghost is a person that has the character, nature, and authority of God the Father and Son. We must accept all of them as a packaged deal.
I could brag about all the boys that asked me out for a first date. The asking and deciding who to chose was exciting.
However, going on the date was the actual experience of fun. If I said no to all the guys then my dating would not have been activated.
I hear persons saying they have no comfort from the Holy Spirit (Comforter).
Question: Have you activated the relationship?
Whatever day you feel alone, abandoned, forgotten, deprived, or comfortless –– this is your “Holy Spirit Launch Day”.
Use your keys!
“And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of The LORD Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.” Acts 19:1-6.
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8.
“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as The LORD our God shall call.” Acts 2:38-39.
