When I was a little girl in elementary school, classes had order and discipline.
The teacher was in charge of instructions and teaching in a fashion that insured all children had the same opportunity to learn.
Students were not allowed to run around the classroom and be out of control because this would disrupt the learning process.
During this time, children were afraid to get in trouble because punishment would happen in school and at home.
If a teacher sent a note home about a child’s bad conduct, your bottom would be sore for a week.
Occasionally, the teacher had to leave the room for a meeting or go to the bathroom.
He or she would leave a student in charge with good behavior to take names. Every student wanted this position because it came with power and privileges.
I had an opportunity to take names one day and I felt so powerful. The children who knew they were going to act up made me promises of things they would give me if I did not write their names down.
When I saw children acting up I starting writing names then the room became silent. When the teacher returned to the room, most of the time I never wrote a name down on paper. I just wanted to put fear in the students.
It is so important that we have the fear of God in our lives. The Lord is such a forgiving God and He gives us chance after chance to repent and receive salvation. Our daily lives involves going to school learning discipline and proper conduct.
Life will not always give us a break, sometimes we must take the discipline. It is better that we follow the instructions of the Lord in His word so we won’t receive punishment in this life and the life to come.
Please do not let you name get on the naughty list. Instead, get your name put on the list for eternal salvation.
John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
